Graphic Design Moves
Manila Design Week 2009 gathers all graphic designers–local and international, established and up and coming–to celebrate the emerging graphic design scene in the country today. The first of its kind in the Philippines, it aims to bring Philippine Graphic Design into the mainstream. More than that, Manila Design Week 2009 aims to establish the Philippines as a major hub of Graphic Design and creativity in the region, if not the world.
Everything and anything Graphic Design in all media will be featured – from print and publication design to web and motion graphics, its application in photography, advertising and the fashion world. Other highlights are student projects and design masterpieces by the Who’s Who in Graphic Design. It doesn’t matter what form it takes on as long as it’s Graphic Design.
It’s all about fusion as Manila Design Week 2009 promotes collaboration of artists in these fields in a week-long lineup of events to be held in different creative hot spots throughout the Metro, with each day showcasing a different theme.
As much as it is inspiring, Manila Design Week 2009 is also informative. Along with the exhibits and activities will be daily dialogs and seminars with and for the graphic designer, the everyday individual, and the client; whether from the creative industry or from the corporate world. The fusion, collaboration and celebration of the Graphic Design Movement will all point to one essential truth: Graphic Design moves.

CONCEPT:
The students will be given a very simple brief. Make a design for one white t-shirt.
PRIZES:
One (1) Winner receives:
Cash prize of 20.000 Pesos
NOKIA PHONE (express music or 6700 5MP cameraphone)
Sponsor gift packs (bratpack + teammanila)
CANON SELFY PRINTER (To be confirmed…)
Four (4) Runners up recieve:
Sponsor gift packs (bratpack + teammanila)
All 5 of the winners will have the privilege to see their designs produced as limited edition Team Manila shirts to be sold at Team Manila and Bratpack stores.
EXHIBIT AND VENUE
We will have an exhibit of 300 artworks in Glorietta 5 atrium.

Event Launch
Get a big flash mob of about 500 people to come and doodle on white t-shirts. With special guests (i.e. We Will Doodle artists collective, Team Manila, etc…) .
At 6:30 pm on August 11, Tuesday, all of you will get together at the Glorietta 5 atrium and doodle together on your shirts. Kanya-kanyang white tshirt. better if you wear it na.
With the right planning and the help of student organizations, as well as a well-focused viral campaign (kindly provided by BBDO/TBWA ad agencies) we could possibly get a great turn-out for this.
—-> All attendees of the flashmob shall have the opportunity to become part of our online gallery. We shall take pictures of everyone’s t-shirt.
—-> The best 3 of the designs collected for the gallery will also be produced as limited edition t-shirts by Team Manila.
